Willpower is your superpower. It’s what you need to make yourself do something you don’t really want to do.

The more you don’t want to do it – and be honest, who really wants to ride the turbo for hours on end? – the more willpower you need. Willpower can get you through just about anything…

Until, sometimes, it doesn’t.

Here’s the thing. We’re all perfectly capable of finding lovely alternatives to whatever it is we should be doing. This creates mental conflict. A willpower war in your head. And that can suck the joy out of everything.

In this TMC Sprint Session, we’ll discover why your willpower is super-powerful – but not ALL-powerful. And we’ll explore four practical weapons that can boost and sustain your willpower.

So, next time your mind tells your muscles to pack it in, and your brain suggests your body goes for a beer, you’ll know exactly what to do.

You’re too slow. Too weak. Too fat. Too unfit. Too indecisive. Too… whatever.

There it goes again – that nagging voice inside your head, assuring you with absolute conviction that you’re just… a bit… crap.

You wouldn’t take it from a friend, would you? Yet you take it from yourself. All the time. Isn’t that weird?

If you’re prone to self-criticism, this is the TMC Sprint Session for you. Wouldn’t it be nice to be nice to yourself for a change? Turning off the flow of negative self-talk has massive benefits for your cycling performance, and your enjoyment. It also means you can tackle any challenge with real enthusiasm, not crippling self-doubt.

In this session, you’ll understand why your mind lies to you. You’ll discover your personal triggers for negative self-talk – they’re different for everyone – and recognise just how that stuff affects you.

And together we’ll explore some powerful mental tools for changing the dialogue in your head once and for all.

Some people believe they’re smarter, stronger, sexier, funnier or cooler than they actually are.

Lucky them! Because for most of us, negative or limiting beliefs are much more common than rampant self-delusion. Which means what we think about ourselves tends to hold us back.

Here’s the thing about limiting beliefs. Some of them are true but don’t really matter. You know, I don’t believe I could win the Tour de France, but I’m ok with that. But many limiting beliefs are untrue, and really do matter. A limiting belief might just be a story you tell yourself about yourself, but it’s a powerful story. It feels real. And it will stop you doing things you’d love to do.

How crazy is that, being shackled by a story? Binning your limiting beliefs is really liberating. Let’s do it together.
